Presented by Award-winning Watercolorist Linda Matthews POURING WORKSHOP Learn to create unique works in this fascinating watercolor workshop. Over three days, using just three basic colors, each artist achieves completely different results. For example, a majestic red maple in autumn, a balmy turquoise tropical paradise, or a navy blue New England surf may emerge. The possibilities are endless! The process involves first wetting heavyweight paper and then pouring watercolor pigment directly onto it. The paper is then rotated and tipped so that the colors run, mingle and blend. By repeating this technique, a layering of colors develops that yields a surprise every time. The original plan the artist may have had for her painting can change mid-course -- the art is revealed by the color patterns that result and the number of layers chosen. Linda Mathews will be conducting the class. She has had workshops like this in the past and is an incredible artist. We are so excited to have her do this for us, and would love to have you join us. We have room for 6 people in my studio to participate in the painting, including Jean and I, so we have room for 4 more people. If you have watercolors and brushes, bring them. If you do not, I have supplies here you can use. Linda will bring all the other supplies we will need. You will need to wear comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting paint on. The cost will range between $85.00 - $150.00 per person, depending on how many people we have. There will be a minimal cost for food, probably $25.00 per person for the weekend, which will include breakfast, lunch and one dinner. One night we will all go out to eat together. We will have breaks and plenty of snacks to sustain us for our creative process! Every one is welcome to stay at my house for the weekend. I have room to sleep 6-8 people in my house. If you prefer, there is a great B&B in Comfort, which is about 8 miles from my house, called the Meyer Bed and Breakfast. It is wonderful, on the creek, and many of my guests have stayed there in the past and love it. Their website is: www.meyerbedandbreakfast.com. Jean and I are so excited.
